The latest Sustainability Report from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) shows continued signs of strong progress.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is transforming the lives of people with disability right across the country.
The report marks the halfway mark of the trial period of the NDIS and shows the Scheme’s rollout is on time and on budget.
Key findings of the Sustainability Report, December quarter 2014, include:
- 13,646 participants have been found eligible for the scheme, with 11,029 having approved plans in place;
- $565.3 million committed to participants which is in line with the Productivity Commission’s estimate of costs;
- Participant satisfaction remains high – 95 per cent of participants have rated their NDIS experience as “good” or “very good”.
Labor congratulates the NDIA for its ongoing hard work in getting the NDIS up and running.
The tireless work of everyone involved is transforming the lives of Australians with disability and their families every single day.
Labor is proud to have created the NDIS, the biggest reform since Medicare.
And we look forward to working with the Government to ensure the Scheme is delivered on time, as promised.
